The number of wine estates you can visit in Cape Town is mind-boggling, making it very difficult to plan your outing. We have the perfect solution if you would like to escape to a place where natural beauty and modern design meet.
Hidden Valley Wine Farm is nestled on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain. You will love the way we have used natural elements like rock and wood throughout our architecture, which aligns with our non-interventionist approach to winemaking.
Focus On The Natural Landscape
Picture for a moment neat rows of vineyard surrounded by an untouched indigenous valley. This natural beauty provides the setting for our “hidden gem” of a wine estate. The soil, climate and topography (collectively known as the terroir) are ideally suited to our gentle winemaking practices that focus on quality rather than quantity. These surroundings also play a unique role in shaping the character you will find in every bottle of Hidden Valley wine.
Our Wine Tasting Centre
Experience our wines in our comfortable wine tasting centre, which is open 7 days a week. You can enjoy our elegant, handcrafted wines surrounded by the very landscape that nurtured the grapes used to create these exceptional wines.
More Than Just Wine
You can further explore the natural beauty of our wine farm with a meander around our nature trail. It has been designed to showcase the indigenous gardens of Hidden Valley. The path will take you around the dam, where you can enjoy a variety of bird species, insects, small bucks and sometimes even caracals that live here in their natural habitat. We live in harmony with these creatures and nature to help correct the imbalances farming creates.
Visit The Cellar
Our modern gravity-fed cellar is available for viewing outside of the harvest season. In line with our gentle winemaking practices, our cellar is gravity-fed. This means that we use the force of gravity to move grapes and wine through the various winemaking stages. We have reduced our reliance on pumps and other mechanical means of viticulture by choosing this method. Cellar tours should be booked in advance.
